GEOPOLITICS

There isn’t anything much more complicated than geopolitics. For anyone to stand in front of you and suggest they fully understand geopolitical issues would be disingenuous

While geopolitics are complicated, the2020plan stays focused on the fundamental needs that nation’s require. The2020plan makes us the Home depot to the world in the core4 sectors. And by sticking to these sectors we can sidestep many of the minefield issues that distract imperative progress.

Many geopolitical issues are rooted in economics and fundamental deficiencies. The2020plan directly impacts these deficiencies which in turn can improve the geopolitics. Poor economics, lack of opportunity and basic human needs are almost always the root causes of political strife.

The 2020 plan will require; trust, access and cooperation from our customer nations. And this will vary immensely. There will be many levels of trust that we will continually need to improve. We will need to start with our inherent allies and trade partners and work our way down the list. But we have an important advantage working for us. And that is that business is the most universal language in the world. Everybody speaks business. And every nation knows that their economy and fundamental needs are essential to them. And regardless of the initial trust issues, all nations will learn that we are the world’s experts in these matters. Our diverse population provides us with the unique advantage that we have a built in pool of human resources that understand the: needs, cultures, and customs of every country in the world.

The2020 plan will absorb at different rates, but over time hesitant nations will realize the benefits of participating in the program. There will be an ever increasing demand in the core4 areas and we will have what they need. Regardless, the 2020 plan is a long term vision and understands it will take many years to sow the seeds into some markets.

We know that many developing countries will not be able to afford many of the services the2020plan offers. And these are usually the countries that need them the most. Our government and non- profit agencies will need to stay committed to tackle critical issues in these nations as this is everyone’s best interest. This commitment lays the framework for continued future involvement. And as nations build their economies this insures the long term success of the2020plan. Like Home Depot we will be seeking growing markets to increase our commerce.

In addition to commerce, we will achieve several other very important benefits. First of all, by transitioning the world from imported oil to renewables it will reduce funding to some nations that have been known to support terrorism.

The2020plan makes no claims to being an expert on defense, but it does recognize how our National Defense is becoming increasingly reliant on intelligence. Good intelligence is as valuable as good weaponry. Maybe more so. And as we become more involved and active around the world this will significantly increase our abilities to collect and monitor vital intelligence. It’s much more effective collecting intelligence if we have a presence than if we don’t.

And by speaking to our customers about economic issues we now have an alternative dialog than solely on military defense. The 2020 plan can change our narrative from one based on military armaments to one based on growth and opportunity. Think about this – what is it that actually gives us reason to have dialog with China? Would we have any dialog if we didn’t speak to them on economic terms? And having no dialog is extremely dangerous from a national defense standpoint.

The concepts of economics and open markets create a natural gateway to conversation. And long term they are the roadmap toward democracy. What is the single major factor in promoting democracy? Economics.

The 2020 plan is a vision and a roadmap to our future. There will be immediate benefits and many long term benefits. But some of the best benefits may be the issues we never have to know about.
